Carl Reiner would be disappointed he didn't live 'to see Trump's eviction,' his daughter tweets

Carl Reiner's daughter, Annie, is using the late comedy legend's Twitter account to share her father's political beliefs after his death. 

Reiner, the veteran comedian, actor and director known for starring in "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and the "Ocean's" films, died June 29 at age 98. His assistant Judy Nagy told The Associated Press he died of natural causes at his home in Beverly Hills, California. Filmmaker Rob Reiner, the legendary star's son, also confirmed his death in a tweet: "Last night my dad passed away. As I write this my heart is hurting. He was my guiding light."

In a series of tweets from Carl's Twitter account, author Annie Reiner, 71, told her father's more than 389,000 followers that he would have been "disappointed not to have lived to see Trump's eviction from the White House."

"We wanted to write a final tweet for him to let you know how much he appreciated your responses and support," she wrote. "I will say one last thing for him. I know he would be disappointed not to have lived to see Trump's eviction from the White House, to make America safe again for honor and truth. Please VOTE!"

Carl Reiner was a prolific tweeter who often took on Trump online, recently dubbing the president a "fraud and danger ... to democracy" and calling out the Trump administration's separation of children and their families at the U.S.-Mexico border. 

"My tweets on him get thousands of responses," Reiner told USA TODAY last May. "He's proud of the fact that he's the worst human being that ever worked in the (Oval Office). He's the best – at being rotten. He takes that as a compliment."
