TL;DR
  • OnePlus Gaming Triggers are clip-on buttons for your phone to help improve your gaming experience.
  • They work with both Android and iOS phones.

OnePlus has been expanding its product portfolio with wearables and cheaper phones, but this latest launch from the company is as unexpected as it gets. Called the OnePlus Gaming Triggers, the detachable accessory aims to give you more control while playing games on Android and iOS phones.

OnePlus says that its gaming triggers are specifically designed for players of battle royale-style multiplayer mobile games, including PUBG, Call of Duty, Free Fire, and more.

The tactile buttons interact with your phone’s display through capacitive conduction. They can be clipped around the edges of your device to give a more controller-like experience while playing games. Each trigger can function independently, enabling you to use either of them on both sides of your device.

OnePlus says that the gaming triggers use Omron switches “to provide users with better tactile feedback based on what happens in-game.”

The triggers weigh 22g and should work even if your phone has a screen protector or protective case on it. However, the maximum device thickness should not exceed 11.5mm.

Currently, the OnePlus Triggers are only available in India for Rs 1,099 (~$15). There’s no word on a wider launch for the accessory.
