'Gator-wader jeans': Sophie Turner's 'questionable' date night look draws mixed reactions from fans

Sophie Turner's date night wardrobe is receiving mixed reactions online.

On Thursday, the "Game of Thrones" star and husband Joe Jonas were spotted leaving San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood. The new parents showed off their fashion-forward outfit choices for their afternoon without their nine-month-old daughter, Willa Jonas, but Turner's controversial, baggy, blue jeans with massive pockets seem to have stolen the show.

The 25-year-old actress wore a pair of Kseniaschnaider Wader Jeans, a fitted white tank, lime green kitten heels, and a matching $621 By Far handbag.

Jonas, on the other hand, went for a much quieter look, wearing faded black jeans, a distressed grey bomber jacket, white sneakers, and a puka shell necklace.

While many fans praised the couple for their daring looks, some have mercilessly dragged Turner's jeans instead.

"I could have done with Sophie Turner’s jeans to smuggle some more Smirnoff Ices into the Liquid nappy night when I was 15," one person tweeted.

"I can't stop thinking about Sophie Turner's gator-wader jeans," wrote another.

"I love Sophie, but those jeans are questionable," someone commented.

"Easy access snack storage?" one person asked, regarding the oversized pockets.

Another person compared the pockets to bowls, dubbing it, "denim bowl."

"What's going on with Sophie Turner's jeans?" Jezebel tweeted.

The negativity was met with a ton of support from fans who loved Turner's intrepid fashion choice and evolving style.

"Sophie Turner said after becoming a mom she had to find her style again and honestly we are obsessed with the results," someone wrote.

Earlier this month, Turner opened up in an interview with Vogue about how thrilled she was to get back into fashion after giving birth to her daughter last July.

“I’m excited about embracing fashion again," she said. "I’ve been dressing up for myself."

Turner also joked that there are some trends she isn't happy to see making a comeback- particularly the return of low-rise jeans.

“It’s actually really annoying though because just as I’ve had a baby, everyone all of a sudden wants to wear low-rise jeans. It’s kind of offensive!" Turner said. Because I’m a mom, I’m desperate to be cool now. So I’m trying to go with baggy tops and baggy jeans. I’m definitely excited to be putting my heels on, and doing my hair and makeup.”
