Fightful Select (subscription required) has reached out to Mojo Rawley, who has denied the report indicating he was released in early March. Mojo was under the impression he was still under contract with WWE an hour prior to his release was made public. He states he was released on April 15.

Original Report:

Mojo Rawley Released Earlier Than Other Talent

Earlier this month, several WWE Superstars were released by the company on the anniversary of last year’s mass release.

One of the superstars cut from WWE was former Professional Footballer Mojo Rawley, who had debuted in the company in 2012. During his time there, he had become a multi-time 24/7 Champion and won the 2017 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

PWInsider Elite (subscription) reports that Mojo Rawley was released from WWE prior to everyone else at the beginning of March.

“Mojo was released earlier than everybody else, he was released in the beginning of March, and it just hadn’t been announced. It makes you think if there’s others that have been released, and WWE’s just keeping it quiet for whatever reason. Mojo says he’s free as of May 31, so that means he was released far sooner than anybody else”

Following the announcement of his release, Mojo Rawley took to Twitter to thank fans alongside other released Superstars, however, fans were confused to see him mention May 31st as his ‘next chapter’. This is because most WWE Superstars are given a 90-day no-compete clause following their release, the date Rawley mentioned is much less than that due to him being released in early March.

It should be noted, Mojo Rawley was included in the “Wrestlemania In the Community” festivities prior to Wrestlemania 37. This was prior to WWE making the announcement of his release.
