Good morning, Broncos Country!

The potential start date for training camp inches closer.

There’s still a lot that can happen between now and July 28, but there is hope. And since we still don’t have major US sports, that’s more than we can say the last four months.

The NFL continues to put plans in place to prepare for the launch of training camp. On Saturday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero tweeted what the media access will look like for training camp and the preseason. As you would expect, it’ll look a lot different. From the fans perspective, no live tweeting or updates from camp.

Nevertheless, the Denver Broncos season is just a few weeks off. It also serves as another excuse to get excited about 2020.

On the MHR Radio Podcast, Adam Malnati and I talked about who we think is the best, worst, most slept on and breakout player on the 2020 roster. For this discussion, it’s starters only.

For me ...

Best Broncos players

  • Justin Simmons and Courtland Sutton. I went with youth, but I also think these two guys will lead Denver this year on defense and offense. You could obviously put Von Miller in here as well.

Worst Broncos player

  • Certain left tackle, I’m sure you’re all holding your breath. For the not so obvious choice, one of the biggest questions on the Broncos roster is depth at cornerback. That’s not to say they’re horrible or the worst, but it is a concern.

Most slept on

  • From an organizational stand point, I went with Phillip Lindsay given Denver just signed Melvin Gordon. I also added linebacker Todd Davis. In terms of the NFL as a whole, you could put Miller in this category. There was a recent list of top edge guys in the league and Miller wasn’t on the list.

Breakout player

  • It should surprise no one that I went with quarterback Drew Lock. I’ve been on the Drew Train since December and it’s not slowing down. I also added rookie receiver Jerry Jeudy.

What say you, Broncos Country? Sound off in the comments.
