The San Jose Sharks and the Vegas Golden Knights meet in NHL action from the T-Mobile Arena on Monday night.

The San Jose Sharks will look to build on their current three game losing streak after picking up a 3-1 win over Anaheim in their last matchup. Evander Kane leads the Sharks in scoring with 23 points including 11 goals and a team-high 12 assists while Logan Couture has 22 points with a team-high 13 goals. Timo Meier and Kevin Labanc each have 17 points with Meier adding 12 assists of his own for San Jose this season. As a team, San Jose is averaging 2.8 goals per game on 29.8 shots per game with a 20.5% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.6 goals per game on 32.2 shots against per game with a 78.6% kill rate on the PK this season.

The Vegas Golden Knights will be out to build on their 5-1 beatdown of the Blues in their last matchup. Mark Stone leads the Golden Knights in scoring with 31 points including a team-high 22 assists while Max Pacioretty and Alex Tuch each have a team-high 13 goals with Pacioretty registering a team-high 110 shots on goal this season. As a team, Vegas is averaging 3.3 goals per game on 30.3 shots per game with a 17.3% success rate on the power play while allowing 2.3 goals per game on 27.3 shots against per game with an 84.4% success rate on the penalty kill.

San Jose is 2-9 in their last 11 games following a win and 3-7 in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall. Vegas is 41-17 in their last 58 games overall and 17-5 in their last 22 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games as a favorite. San Jose is 0-4 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.

The plus money with the Sharks is tempting considering that one bounce is all it takes to turn the game on its head and give us a big payday from one winner. However, beating Anaheim and beating Vegas are two completely different things on the spectrum and Vegas is back on one of their runs. Combine that with the fact that Vegas is at home where they’ve been so strong since their inception in the league a few years ago, and I think you have to side with Vegas on the puck line here to get this ML price down.
